Draft

Final Draft

This is my draft for my book cover, The idea I have come up with for my book is to have the 3 main characters of the book coming out of the ring with the main building as well going through the centre, so its not just empty also I am going to have the main good people's place on the left as that is where the main people our, and I am going to have the bad guys place on the right as thats were they are, on the back there is gonna be a big ring above the blurb and a hill range below the blurb

Emulation

My Emulation

When creating my emulation I used features of my copy to help me create it, for example I used the idea of patchy colours, I got this Idea Originally from my sherlock scamp also I used the idea of not much text and just a title, to create this emulation Took a picture of my friend in a hoodie, I then deleted all of the background so it was just his head I then made the background black and faded his face into this background, Then I added 'Adjustment Layers' to the picture of my friend, for example I used the 'Posterize Layer' to make his face look patchy, I also used a gradient to make him black and white and add in a bit of grey.

Copy 2

Developing ideas for the ring

Creating the ring - Idea 1

To create the ring I used 'cinema 4D', I used cinema 4D because it is a good programme for making 3D objects and 3D text designs, to start with the ring I imported a tube from the 'Mo-Graph' tool section, then I changed the tubes rotation so I could get the best angle.

Then I went to the object properties tab and I changed the Inner radius to try and make the tube inner bit smaller so it looks like a ring, then I changed the cap segments to '1' so it created a more realistic for the ring.

Then I tried creating a colour material for the ring, To do this I used the 'Luminance' to give the ring a shiny colour, then I added a 'reflection' so it looked like a reflective gold.

Then I added the colour to the tube layer by dragging the colour to the tube. This is the ring with the colour un-rendered.

Then I rendered the image so the colour 'Luminance' would shine through, Then I imported the file to 'Photoshop' I will then add textures to the ring, to get these textures I will take pictures of gold things, and then clipping mask it to the ring and use the 'multiply' on blending options.

This is my contact sheet of my first silhouette to create this silhouette I took a picture of someone in a crouch stance and i went round it with the 'pen tool' and I then Filled the area with a black fill I then added a Backpack to it and the light which features in the 'Lord of the rings' film.
